Simon Borg-Olivier has been teaching for 38 years and has been a registered physiotherapist for 23 years. Simon works as a research scientist and a University lecturer in Australia. He has been teaching lifestyle, movement and meditation at conferences, intense teachers trainings and international courses since 1990. Simon has studied with traditional masters from Tibet, Japan, India and China; supporting a unique experience of learning for all lucky enough to join him in his energetic and inspirational approach to life, health and longevity in movement practice.

The Course
- Learn to avoid injury in your practice or that of your students
- Become proficient in your knowledge of human anatomy
- Understand the effects of exercise on all systems of the body
Course covers basic anatomy and physiology required to understand the foundation of movement practice specific for yoga practitioners. The main emphasis is on the practical or applied aspects of anatomy and physiology theory.
You will gain an understanding of basic anatomy and physiology to enhance one's yoga practice; improve one's ability to increase strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness and inner wellbeing; minimize the risk of injuries as a result of yoga practice; and help to use hatha yoga to assist recovery from a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and medical conditions. It is intended to be used by yoga teachers, yoga practitioners and others who use stretching, strengthening, breathing and other yoga-like exercises as part of their health regime.
Foundations of Movement
Sessions with Zaplin on the basics of movement with the application of theory and practice from the Applied Anatomy and Physiology Program.
Zaplin will work with students to help synthesize the knowledge from class into easy and attainable person goals and outlines that can be used for inner and outer development of understanding.
Applied Anatomy and Physiology
The twelve unit Applied A&P Program with Simon will outline anatomy and physiology specific for the movement practitioner and teacher.
This will provide both teachers and students of yoga the knowledge and skills to understand the basic workings of the body while practicing asanas (static postures), vinyasas (dynamic exercises), pranayamas (breathing exercises) of traditional Hatha yoga.
Weekly LIVE Online Class
Support of weekly LIVE online classes through Zoom offers time for digestion and integration of the knowledge shared.
Simon and Zaplin will be available to discuss questions and reflections in regards to the course material as well as time to connect with the growing Maha Vidya Sangha for interaction and collective support.
Playbacks will be available for all missed classes.
